And on the 3rd and 4th days…

The Braves game on Monday night was fun, especially during the rain delay. We basically had a huge party in the stands chanting and drinking beer. The game resumed, but we were good little boys and girls and stuck to our 9:30 curfew so that we could be up early for Tuesday’s events.
The boy was picked up and taken to Lenox for the Peachtree Road Race, and I met up with him at the finish line at Piedmont Park. Now I know why everyone really loves the Peachtree – drinks were served starting at 8am, Park Tavern was packed, and mostly everyone was drunk by 10. I had my nalgene filled with mimosas (a brilliant idea formulated by the boy’s friend), so I was feeling grand by the time the boy showed up. We headed to the Waffle House for a post-race meal (was I the only one that saw the irony in that?), then it was time for a much needed family nap. Molly cooperated fully.
Later it was off to the obligatory 4th of July cookout held by friends, who always put out a fabulous spread. Vodka tonics in one hand and tasty food in the other, it was a great time. We headed home to sit on the deck and watch fireworks, but the rain caused plan B (aka watch Entourage) to go into effect.
A happy 4th, indeed.
