Think about your dad

March 3, 2010 § 2 Comments

Today I was driving over to the jewelry store to get a ring repaired, and near the corner of Monroe and Virginia there was a tagged newspaper box. It read “THINK ABOUT YOUR DAD.”

Then I did, and suddenly became very sad. Thanks newspaper box. Ass.

Once I was coming down I75, returning from a glorious vacation. The hospital where my father died was next to the freeway, and put a huge sign on top of the building to call attention to itself.
A few years later, the hospital shut down. Sometimes karma does work.

i used to feel that way every time “every step you take” came on the radio. i swear it was played more in the few months after my dad died.
